Director of Engineering

Job Location: Nashville, TN


Gibson USA Division is accepting applications for the position of Director of Engineering.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic leader with significant manufacturing engineering experience and will possess the skills essential to helping the USA Division achieve strategic performance objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement new processes and manufacturing technologies, focusing on optimizing process cycle times, improving production yields, balancing material and product flows, and reducing inventory throughout the value chain.
  • Manage the configuration and control of existing products, including the maintenance of process documentation, BOMs and routings.
  • Serve as the liaison between product development and manufacturing to ensure a smooth and timely release of new products into production.
  • Lead the implementation of continuous improvement tools throughout operations.
  • Directs, coordinates, and administers the planning, research, and development function improving existing or creating new products, processes, services, ideologies, territorial expansion, and/or development of new ventures for an organization.


  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial), MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years manufacturing engineering experience within high-mix high-volume consumer goods manufacturing, having a minimum of 5 years management experience leading a multi-disciplined manufacturing engineering group.
  • Significant experience with the design and implementation of Lean Manufacturing systems.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with experience in fostering cultural change and developing continuous improvement environments.
  • Strong team player possessing the interpersonal skills necessary to effectively collaborate across functional boundaries including product development, marketing, quality assurance and manufacturing.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
