Orlando, FL—November 24, 2008— Gibson Guitar, presenter of Orlando GuitarTown along with the city of Orlando announced the availability of the official Orlando GuitarTown map. The map, which details the location, sponsor and artist of all 36 ten-foot tall fiberglass Gibson Les Paul model guitars, can be viewed at www.orlandoguitartown.com. Designed exclusively by Florida based visual artists, each guitar has been placed throughout the city of Orlando in front of city landmarks, sponsor locations and other popular destinations. The guitars will be on display through May 1, 2009.
The Orlando GuitarTown project is a public arts project featuring ten-foot tall fiberglass Gibson Les Paul model guitars and a series of regular size showcase Epiphone guitars painted by local and regional visual artists. The project unites the Orlando art, music and business communities and will benefit local charities. The culmination of the project will come in 2009 with an all-star live auction benefitting local charities hosted by world renowned Juliens Auctions (www.juliensauctions.com). The four beneficiaries include The Downtown Arts District, Parramore Kids Zone, the Central Florida Commission on Homelessness and Page 15.
