Leading Irish company Newbridge Silverware is the latest company to support the Gibson GuitarTown London charity campaign. The prestigious silverware company have pledged their support by sponsoring legendary musician, tireless campaigner and fellow Irishman Sir Bob Geldof’s Gibson SG guitar. The unique guitar titled “Silver Sounds” and has been personally signed by Sir Bob Geldof and specially modified with a Newbridge Silverware sterling silver Gibson headstock, scratch plate with silver motif flowing on the body and a silver back plate, making this guitar a must have for any serious guitar collector.

Newbridge Silverware is one of Ireland’s most successful businesses. Owned by the Doyle family since the 1970s, the team at Newbridge Silverware have succeeded in reinventing the brand and establishing it firmly as Ireland’s leading contemporary lifestyle company. Set up in 1934 to bolster the local economy, Newbridge owes its origins to local visionaries who recruited the services of five cutlery tradesmen from Sheffield to pioneer the craft in Newbridge. The company quickly earned a valuable reputation for design, quality and craftsmanship and soon took pride of place as the cutlery brand in Irish homes.

Gibson GuitarTown London, has been the capitals hottest free summer public exhibition. Sixty uniquely hand painted and signed guitars are now available to bid online exclusively at Ebay. Gibson GuitarTown London is a charity inspired campaign bringing the power of music together with art to raise money for The Prince's Trust, Nordoff- Robbins Music Therapy and Teenage Cancer Trust. All money raised from the sale of the guitars at auction will be split equally between the three designated charities.

Between June 2007 to September 2007 thirty 10 foot hand painted, free standing Gibson Les Paul replica guitars were on public display outside at More London on London's South Bank by City Hall, SE1. An additional 30 hand painted and signed regular sized Gibson SG guitars were publicly displayed around The O2 in Greenwich. All the associated visual artists including Sir Peter Blake and the caricaturist Gerald Scarfe collaborated with many of Britain’s best known and respected musicians exclusively for the Gibson GuitarTown London charity campaign.

The Gibson SG guitars have been personally signed by leading British musicians such as Ronnie Wood, Sir Bob Geldof, Paul Rodgers, Roger Waters, Corinne Bailey Rae, Slash, Lemmy and Depeche Mode, The View, The Fratellis, Lost Prophets, Kaiser Chiefs and Mark Ronson to name a few. The 10 foot Gibson Les Paul guitars have been personally signed by leading British musicians such as Sir Paul McCartney, Brian May, Robert Plant, Noel Gallagher, Paul Weller, Rod Stewart, Ozzy Osbourne, KT Tunstall, New Order, Dirty Pretty Things, Razorlight, Hard-Fi, Kasabian, Magic Numbers, James Blunt, Katie Melua, Mark Knopfler, Roxy Music and The Stereophonics to name a few.
